Engine Family Lookup

CARB compliance often requires in depth reporting requirements. These reporting requirements require end users to report a vehicle’s or piece of equipment’s Engine Family Number. The Engine Family Number is a 12 character alphanumeric number that certifies the emission level of a particular engine. This number should be listed on the engine dataplate, but often times it’s hard to access or difficult to read. Cummins West can provide EFN’s upon request given the following parameters are met:

  • The engine is a Cummins Engine
  • The party requesting the EFN is the owner of the engine
  • The engine is domiciled  in Central or Northern California (Kern County to the Oregon border.

To submit a request for an Engine Family Number lookup, please complete the following form. Provided the information submitted is accurate, Cummins West will return a valid Engine Family Number within 2 business days. Note: If your zip code is out of our trade territory (central and northern California), we cannot provide an engine family number and will likely NOT respond to your inquiry.  Click here to find the Cummins distributor nearest you.
